Registrations & Forms:
Registrations are accepted for all programs through Online or In-Person at the Recreation Office (registrations are not accepted over the phone or via the mail). Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Some programs have limited enrollment, so early registration is encouraged.
Registration Minimums & Maximums
Registrations are checked 7 days prior to the start date of a program to see if they have met their minimum number needed to run the program. If not, the program will be cancelled and a full refund given to those registered. Registration will close when a program has reached its maximum number and a waiting list will be created. No registrations will be accepted after the second meeting of a program.
Fees & Payments:
Payment must be made in full at the time of registration, unless stated that a deposit is required. Deposits are NOT refundable. If a deposit has been paid, the remaining amount is due by the required date. Participants will not be allowed to attend a program until payment is paid in full. Checks are to be made payable to: South Burlington Rec. Dept. Credit cards are accepted at the office and must be used to pay at the time of Online Registration. There is a 2.9% + .30 cent service fee for the use of credit cards. This is charged by the provider, not the city.
Notification:
A receipt, with program information and comments, is given to all In-Person registrations and emailed to all Online registrations. It is important to print out your receipt, there may be additional waivers or information flyers attached to it. Be sure to read through all information. We notify all registered participants of any changes or cancellations of programs. If a program has filled, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.

Program meeting days can be cancelled due to inclement weather, facility conditions, and/or other unknown circumstances. If we have to cancel a day and know far enough ahead of time all participants will be notified by email and/or a phone call. Most times cancellations occur the day of and are unknown right up to the start time.
In the case where a program is held inside a school facility, all Recreation Department Programs will be cancelled any time school is closed or dismissed early.
When it comes to weather conditions, we hold off as long as possible before having to cancel. We strive not to have any cancelled days during a program. You should call our Program Hotline at 846-4108 prior to leaving from home to come to the program. We will put a message on the Hotline just prior to the program start time. A lot of times the decision to cancel is made at the time of the program.
If we have to cancel a day, we will make every effort to offer a make-up class if facilities and instructors are available. If multiple days are cancelled we will not be able to make all of them up, but will do our best to offer 1 or 2 make-ups. All participants will be notified by email or phone for makeup dates and times. Please call the Recreation Department at 846-4108 for any questions.

Each year we provide a significant amount of financial assistance, but we are not able to meet all the needs of the community. You can help by making a donation to our Scholarship Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to those who would not otherwise be able to participate in our programs or activities. Nothing Kills a Program Quicker:
Than everyone waiting until the last minute to register! For a program to be successful it must have participants. We set our deadline for programs at 5 days prior to determine if the enrollment is sufficient enough to offer the program. If everyone waits until the day before to register, we may have already cancelled the program due to low enrollment. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY
